چکیده
One group of 19 control dogs and other group of 20 "treated" dogs were bled into hemorrhagic hypotension after Nembutal anesthesia and their arterial pressures controlled at 40 mm. Hg for an average period of one hour and fifteen minutes. Neither group had further blood depletion, or replacement, for an additional 1 hour and 39 minutes, but the treated group received Aramine. Reinfusion was performed after an oligemic period totaling 2 hours and 54 minutes. Of the clogs in the control group, 10.5 per cent survived; 50 per cent of the treated dogs survived.

متن کاملMETABOLIC ACIDOSIS AND SEVERE HYPOTENSION: INFLUENCE ON SURVIVAL TIME AND SHOCK PERIOD DURING HEMORRHAGE IN THE CAT
Metabolic acidosis and severe hypotension are the main causes of irreversibility during hemorrhagic shock. The influence of these two factors on durations of shock period and survival time were studied in four groups of anesthetized cats. In group I the animals were made hypotensive by reducing mean arterial blood pressure (Pa) to 45 mmHg with concurrent metabolic acidosis. [n group II the ...
متن کاملSuccessful Management of Hypotension Induced by Low Intracranial Pressure with Intravenous Administration of Lidocaine
A man suffered severe hypotension down to 20~30 mmHg when he received a surgical remove of glioma. This hypotension was hard to treat with many ways due to the blood pressure did not show any response to many vasoconstrictors, such as: adrenaline, norepinephrine, dopamine, and Aramine etc. A rapid injection of lidocaine 200 mg from right femoral vessel showed an efficient effect on promoting bl...

CROWELL,JACK W., AND ELVIN E. SMITH. Oxygen de&it and irreversible hemorrhagic shock. Am. J. Physiol. 206 (2) : 3 I 3-3 I 6. rg64.A device was constructed to record continually the oxygen conSumption of a dog and to summate as the oxygen deficit the difference between normal oxygen use and oxygen use during hypotension. Dogs were subjected to hypotension of 30 mm Hg and various oxygen deficits ...
متن کاملEffect of hypothermia in irreversible hemorrhagic shock.
Irreversible hemorrhagic shock was studied in normothermic dogs and in dogs subjected to hypothermia at three different periods following the onset of the hemorrhage. A significant prolongation of life was observed in the hypothermic dogs, the increase in survival time being greatest in those dogs cooled early in the shock sequence. The temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, electroca...
